Columbus, Ohio

Ohio’s capital and largest city, Columbus is located almost exactly in the center of the state. Columbus saw a sharp population increase in 1831 when the National Road reached it from Cumberland, Maryland, and ultimately extended to Illinois. Immigrants were mostly Irish and German. Today, German Village and the Brewery District are historic areas in the 223-acre neighborhood where public tours take visitors through cottages and Queen Anne Victorian homes. Another historic landmark is the North Market, a culinary smorgasbord of prepared foods including sushi and pad thai, bratwurst, pizza, salsa, and more, with a seasonal open-air farmers market selling produce, cheese, honey, and herbs.

About me:
I am 26 years old, and I cook in the smallest kitchen ever built. There will be a picture posted because no one believes that I can cook in such a small space. I live in an apartment, so my oven is at least 30 years old, and without my oven thermometer, everything would turn out black. I love watching cooking shows, my favorite is Barefoot Contessa and 30 Minute Meals.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed on Dec. 3, 2008 by Valerie Cuff
First time making this and took to Thanksgiving gathering. It was a HUGE HIT! As others suggested, I used cinnabon frosting & baked in bundt pan. The aroma is incredible as it bakes. Make it & have a cup of coffee ready when it comes out of the oven. Thank you!

Dad's Down Home Cornbread and Jalapeno Meatloaf

Reviewed on Dec. 3, 2008 by deedeeg
This is a very good basic recipe. I agreed with other reviewers that it needed something more so i added 1 packet of onion and vegetable soup mix and increased the cheese and it was delicious. The last time i made the recipe i was out of sour cream so i increased the milk a little and i liked it better. The flavors seemed to pop. In the future i will not add the sourcream and i will continue to work on this recipe.
