Madison, Wisconsin

Though Madison is the political capital of Wisconsin, Madison is not only a city of politics it is also the city which represents our state to the nation as a truly wonderful melting pot of cultures. Wisconsin was founded by many Scandinavians, Germans and Irish. But times have changed and now Madison Wisconsin is a multi-cultural city not only in population but local cuisine as well. Madison prides itself on the things that have made Wisconsin famous worldwide -- cheese, beer and Bucky Badger brand snack foods -- but we also embrace a multitude of other cultures from Indian to Mexican, the Dane County Farmers Market to Brat Fest. We are a city that just loves our food, and we love it well.

Golden Dinner Rolls

I did not like the flavor of the rolls, which is too bad because they were light and fluffy. I made these along with another yeast roll and these barely got touched.

Homemade Crescent Rolls

Reviewed on Nov. 30, 2008 by chefspecialty
These were wonderful. I made them for Thanksgiving dinner along with another yeast roll. These were the clear winners, the other rolls barely got touched. The taste was really wonderful and they were easy to make. I recommend these highly, you won't be disappointed. TIP: Before baking brush with egg wash-50/50 egg to water. They will be golden and yummy!

Pumpkin Butter

Reviewed on Nov. 25, 2008 by Katy
Yum! Just got done making this, and it tastes fabulous! 2 changes: dropped the sugar to just over 1 c. & added a splash more apple juice. Cook time was right on, be sure to stir every minute or so. I love the spicy taste of it, the ginger really came through and it smells like pie. Thanks for the great recipe!
