Maple Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
The compound butter is very good, so it gets 4 stars for that part. I didn't have marjoram and subbed with fresh parsley, and I did not use the lemon peel. I used a turkey breast and while it was very moist, I didn't think the butter flavor came through at all except in the skin, which I don't like, unfortunately. I'll definitely keep the recipe for the butter, but I think I'll find other uses for it.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I thought this was just ok. The only beer I had on hand was beer with berry undertones. The berry flavor wasn't prominent - the bread really didn't have a whole lot of flavot of any sort. Next time I will try the suggestions of other and try to add a few things to spice this up and I will probably use a different beer.

Chocolate Chex® Caramel Crunch

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Really good!I'm not big on microwaving, so I prepared it like I would do caramel. I put the butter, sugar, and cornsyrup in a pan over medium low heat until it was melted, then increased the heat to get it bubbling (about med-high). I let it simmer for about 3 minutes, then stirred in the baking soda, let it simmer for about 15-30 sec more (stirring constantly) and then poured over the cereal. You have to work fast before it hardens up, or put your mixing bowl with cereal over another bowl of hot water to keep it "loose". I then drizzled with melted peanut butter chips, and YUM!

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
These are good but I felt it needed about 7 quarts of popcorn, there was a ton of the coating. I got 9 2.5 to 3 oz. balls (about 3 inches). I added vanilla (right at the very end) and even some salt.

Hawaiian Sweet Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I have never made bread before... It was so sticky I kept adding flour so I could work with it. It turned out very dense but the flavor was good. I decided to to serve with my Thanksgiving dinner but froze it and I made some stuffing with it and bread pudding.

Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
We really enjoyed these mini muffins, and I would give 4.5 stars if I could. We cut back the white sugar to 1/3 cup, and still found the muffin very sweet with all the chips. I may add less chips next time. Interesting blend of flavors!

Creamed Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This was really good. I forgot the cheese before I put on the breadcrumbs and had to put it on top and I am so mad I did that because the cheese was not cheesy it was more hard.... however I didn't use cornflakes I used a mixture of panko bread crumbs and French fried onions

Maple Roast Turkey and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I would give this 5 stars but the gravy was too sweet for my taste and my guest. It sucked because we were all looking forward to mashed potatoes with savory gravy but it was more thickened maple syrup. I will make the turkey like this again but will opt out the gravy.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
My family really enjoyed this recipe. I sauteed onion and celery first, then added flour to make roux. Then added milk and broth. Also added frozen peas. Great use of leftover turkey.

Evacuation Tuna & Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Hubby has a bad cold, and this has always been his comfort food of choice. Stuck with no car today, I had to rely solely on ingredients in my pantry. Because this is such a basic recipe, this fit my needs perfectly. I omitted the onion and cheese and substituted frozen green peas for the lima beans, keeping all else the same. My roasted red peppers were particularly mushy, so they didn't stay in chunky pieces--but actually, it made the salad take on an attractive color and speckled appearance that made it very pretty! Good and satisfying tuna pasta salad, with much room for flexibility with the ingredients. Hubby was a happy camper!

Easy Peanut Butter Cookies by EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This recipe provides a much stronger flavor than the other easy peanut butter cookie recipes on this site (due to the extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter). No need to add the egg. This recipe is great because it comes together so quickly and always comes out the same way.

Easy Peanut Blossoms

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
These come together so quickly, they are an easy addition to Christmas baking. I like to use chocolate stars instead of kisses - no unwrapping and they seem to stick to the cookie better.
