Old Fashioned Paradise Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Great recipe! I made it with just a couple of changes. I used Splenda for my diabetic husband. They now have a blend of brown sugar which is delicious! I used 4oz. more of cheese to help set the layer. The flavor was fantastic, and the layers turned out picture perfect. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

This is a simply delicious and easy recipe. I definitely recommend this to first time pie makers. I made this for our first Thanksgiving at home and it turned out perfect. I will make this again!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
The enchiladas were very tasty but the recipe was more time consuming than it said. Maybe it was just me, though. We didn't really like all the onion in it either even though I cut it down to half of what was called for. I will probably try to make this again without so much onion, and maybe let it simmer longer.

Spice Baked Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
yummy! i substituted the tomato juice for chicken stock (as i didn't have tomato juice), and it still came out nicely (but i think the tom. juice would have been better!). also, i added carrots into it also, which went really well with the beef, green peppers and cheese. it made for a great main course. or to make it vegetarian, omit the beef and double the veg. serve it with a side salad. perfect!

If you like a sweet corn bread this is wonderful. Added a little bit of honey but otherwise made as is. Delicious!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I have been using this recipe for a couple years now (had to try it when I saw all the great reviews). It really is the best lasagna recipe out there. I do go to the farmers market and purchase all fresh ingredients such as the mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, fresh made pasta and good quality meat. It really makes a difference! It has been a hit with everyone I have served it to. Thank you so much for the great post!

Pumpkin Spice Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
We're making these right now and I can't stop eating them! The 1st batch we baked for maybe 9 minutes---not long enough! They were ok, but gooey. I think 12-13 minutes will work best for my oven. They're so simple to make, I'll make sure to keep these TWO ingredients in my pantry. Next time---chocolate chips!!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I normally like to take a picture of the recipes I try on here. As soon as I set the plate down at work, they were gone, so I couldn't take a picture. Seriously. I brought them in on Monday and have had multiple requests that I bring them again next week. Maybe I'll get a picture next time... Probably the best snickerdoodles I've ever had or made.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
This was my first time making apple pie and this was super easy and really good. Like others I added 1 tsp cinnamon, dash of nutmeg & 1 tbls of vanilla to the syrup. I used Pillsbury ready made crust and did the lattice top reserving some of the syrup to brush on the lattice. Cooked at 350 for 50 minutes covering the edges with foil for the first 15 minutes to prevent burning. My butter flour mixture never made a "paste", but it didn't seem to affect the outcome of the syrup.
