Velveeta!
I read a few reviews that spoke of the oils of the cheddar making the recipe greasy, so I used velveeta in it's place. As for other things I did, I heeded previous reviewers and used frozen whole green beans (thawed a bit with warm water), added fried onions (my favorite: 1/2 in the mix and the other 1/2 on top), and added fresh crumbled bacon in the mix and on the top.
Loved this recipe, and so did everyone else. With a mixed family Thanksgiving, I heard the most raving about this green bean casserole than anything else.
