About me:
I always loved to watch my dad cook in the kitchen, and would sometimes help. Now that I am grown and live on my own I started cooking "real meals" because I started to get bored of the Hamberger Helpers and Hotdogs and such. After trying out some family recipes, i wanted to experiment and try some of my own. Now, I love to cook... and try new ideas.

Pork Chile Rojo (Pulled Pork with Red Chile Sauce)

Reviewed on Dec. 2, 2008 by ferrermartinez
I've made this twice now and have enjoyed it both times. I used chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (after running the peppers through the mini food processor). They really added the extra kick I was looking for. The pork was great on corn tortillas and then I made enchiladas with mole sauce out of the rest.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed on Dec. 2, 2008 by ferrermartinez
I wound up cooking this longer than the recipe called for, but it only made it taste even better. I used a jar of Hormel real bacon bits that I had in the pantry and they did the trick. The only thing I would do differently next time is have green onions on hand for the garnish. After all, a baked potato isn't a baked potato without green onions!

Giblet Gravy II

Reviewed on Nov. 27, 2008 by XiaoSiobhan
I'm not a gravy person but you can't have Thanksgiving turkey without gravy, you'd have a riot on your hands! However, this recipe was quite tasty and super easy. Even my stepmom who hates organ meat liked it. I made stock from the giblets and then pureed the stock and giblets before mixing them into the roux. I didn't find it to be too bland but then again I used tons of garlic in my turkey brine and my stock was well-seasoned.
