Premier White Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
This was very easy to put together and baked up nicely in exactly 25 minutes. I did not have sliced almonds, so left them off, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The texture is a bit more cakelike than brownie-like, but it is a very nice, mild white chocolate snack cake. Would make a great base for some other flavors, mix-ins or toppings. Thanks for sharing!

Beef Taco Skillet

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
This was really great... very easy too! I didn't have any flour tortillas so I used 3 cups of elbow macaroni, measured before cooking. It worked well, with a little leftover. I made the recipe for 10 since there were guys over to play guitars and jam a little with my boyfriend. It made ALOT but they devoured it and had 3 bowls each which left just enough for one bowl for myself and a little leftover for lunch. I added chopped onion, chopped garlic, cayenne, and a no salt organic seasoning which I picked up at Costco some time back and this really turned out tasty!

Coconut Bon Bons

To all those having trouble keeping the balls on the toothpicks, try putting them in the freezer for an hour instead of the fridge. They will get firmer and hold on to the toothpicks better. This recipe is just like my favorite candy bar.

Pecan Cilantro Pesto

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
My friend Matt made this and recommends using another type of nut. He topped chicken with the pesto and baked 1 hr. He reports the pecan tasted too strong for the first few bites, but ended up tasting OK.

Creamy Italian Dressing II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I used a salad quality olive oil and fresh oregano instead of the vegetable oil and the dried herb because that's what I had. Added a bit more garlic (to our taste) and a little more sugar. Turned out really great! If what the other reviewers say is right, this dressing will be even better in a few days, so we're looking forward to it then!

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
i wish i had just followed the recipe instead of taking the advice to completely change it. I tried doing a double boil on it, and the chocolate never smoothed and I burned myself to high heaven with the steam. Put it in the microwave and it destroyed the chocolate at that point. I had to throw the whole shebang away. I may try this again, but I'll follow the simple instructions next time.

Mushroom Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Wonderful flavor. After cooking, I cut the roast into chunks, thicken the gravy, and mixed together. Then I served over garlic mashed. Would work great over egg noodles also.

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I cut this in a third of the original recipe. I used two full eggs, instead of the 1 1/2 the scaled down version called for, used apple pie spice and added a packet of instant apples and cinnamon oatmeal. I also cut the sugar in half. Just cutting this recipe down made 13 medium sized muffins. They smell fantastic. I'll update this review tomorrow as to how the family liked them.

Rolled Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Great base recipe. I would consider adding more liquid to the mix. Mine came out a bit too crumbly & wouldn't stick together. I also added some spices for flavor. But as a base recipe it's great. Thank you.

These are tasty treats. Everyone, young and old, loved them. They are great even without the chocolate/butterscotch mixture. You can't go wrong, either way!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This was perfect! Not too cheesy, just right! I only had one potato and was cooking just for me and my daughter so I rescaled the measurements and it was the perfect amount. I also boiled the potatoes and sauteed the onion in olive oil ahead of time because of time constraints. Thanks for the recipe!
