Banana and Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
If I could give this recipe a lower star rating I would. I love the strawberry-banana flavors together, but with a recipe like this, I think this person should be banned from any kitchen anywhere.

Avocado and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I made this salad for a company BBQ that was desparate for some healthy veggies! I omitted the onions and mixed in about 1/4 cup olive oil and vinegar dressing into the mixture. I topped a bed of baby spinach with the tomato/avocado mix; and spread croutons around the plate. It looked great and was gone in a flash!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I used pie-filling peaches from a can for the filling. I cut them up into much tinier pieces, and the end result was great! I got a little frustrated while constructing the empanadas, but that was probably my fault for not working with properly chilled dough. I used to buy these all the time mexican tiendas down in Tucson, and I have to say that pumpkin and tres leches filled are the best!

Pizza Stix

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
I made these for a wedding shower, and they were gone in 15 minutes! I cut the string cheese in half to double the recipe and cut down on the serving sizes. I forgot to add the garlic; but I don't think anyone minded.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
This was the easiest pumpkin pie I've ever made! All in all, I think the sweetened condensed milk is what makes this recipe shine.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
I'm glad I tried this recipe, it was very tasty. Although, I'll have to agree with other members about the incorrect cooking time and temperature. The first time I made this it burned a little. On the second try I reduced the cooking temp. to med low, and it came out much better.

Green Grape Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
I used this recipe for a party at work and it was a hit. I've never made a fruit salad before so I was kind of nervous of how it would turn out. Although I altered this recipe a little, it came out great.

White Berry Pie

Very good recipe, it was so easy to make. I added some fresh raspberries to the mix for a little tartness. The base was very smooth and not to sweet. Loved it!!!!

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
My family loved this recipe so much I made it twice in one week! I made a couple changes to the the recipe: I used drumsticks instead of wings, and also used apple cider vinegar in place of the regular vinegar.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
My husband loves chicken fried steak, so I decided to fix this for him just recently. He raved about it, though I added a bit more salt & pepper to mine. I have a large (14") cast iron skillet that was my grandmothers and used that to cook them in. Will definitely cook them again with a few small changes: double the amount for the gravy and spice the breading up a bit for mine. Thanks for the great recipe Patti!!!
